Frequently Asked Questions
- What can we do to help the environment?
As one of the poorest performing countries in Europe with regards to recycling rates we must strive to work together with local authorities and householders to reduce the volume of recyclable waste going to landfill and where possible use this recovered material for recycling within the UK, benefiting both UK manufacturers and the environment.
It is our firm belief that this can be achieved by source segregating material as is common practice in other European countries already achieving rates of 50% and greater.

- How often will you collect my recyclable material?
- We can collect your recyclable material as often as is required. We provide daily, weekly, monthly and annual collections.
- Where does the material you collect go?
- All wood-free de-ink grades are recycled within the UK and used in the manufacture of tissue. News and pams collected is reprocessed in the UK for the manufacture of newsprint. A small percentage of cardboard and mixed papers that we collect remain in the UK for the manufacture of board but the majority is exported to China and India where there is an ever increasing demand for these grades.
- Why do you export to China and India?
- In recent years the UK paper-making industry has seen a number of mills closing due to increased energy costs. The material being supplied to these mills is now being exported to emerging markets such as China and India.
