Local authorities
Pressure is mounting to reduce the volume of waste going to landfill and Stirling Fibre is well prepared for the challenge. We’re helping local authorities and private businesses throughout the country to meet their obligations in the most cost-effective way – protecting the environment, whilst at the same time protecting profit margins.
We can offer a fully integrated waste solutions service – from collection and treatment, through to recycling, re-use and disposal – or we can help with one or more specific services, whichever approach best suits your requirements.
Equipped with some of the latest and most efficient technology, we can carry out competitive bulk processing whilst minimising transport costs – in many cases, uplifting materials without charge.
Segregating at source
Segragating waste at source wherever possible ensures a high quality end product.
Executive Director
Key to our approach is segregating materials at source, wherever possible. Why segregate? By separating waste at the point of source, we can maximise the volume of materials that can be recycled and ensure a higher quality end product.
Take for example, paper and cardboard. By keeping these materials separate from other waste such as food, we can minimise contamination and improve cleanliness and quality to produce recovered fibres capable of meeting the high standards demanded by today’s paper mills. By contrast, contaminated papers and cardboards often have to be transported further to be re-sorted and cleaned up, adding both to costs and environmental impact.
Expert, tailor-made solutions
Different customers have different waste streams and legislative obligations, and Stirling Fibre can tailor a waste solution to suit the particular requirements of your organisation. From advising on and supplying the best method of collection – waste compactors and bins, paper-banks, sacks, cardboard containers, baling presses – to identifying the ideal frequency of collection, be it daily, weekly, monthly or annually.
And for every tonne of materials that we do recover and re-use, we’ll be reducing the amount going to landfill, helping our shared environment and helping you save money.
